Kijiji for the Win: Part One!

Can I just say how much I love kijiji. What a great way to connect with your community, sell old stuff, buy new stuff, get rid of stuff for free etc! Let me just list a fraction of the stuff we've acquired on Kijiji:
Dog, Cat, 4 apartments, elliptical (bought and sold), Freezer, TV stand, cloth diapers, lawnmower (bought and sold), baby toys, baby clothes, iPhones (sold to pay for our new ones), bouncy car exersaucer and much much more. I also connected with a really awesome group of moms to form a playgroup that meets once a week (every mom should join a playgroup - amazing!)

This week I scored 3 great items for a grand total of $70. If I had shopped retail they would have cost me far over $300! I'm going to share over the next few days these great items and how Jack is in love with them (mommy too).

We've been on the hunt for several items this week as our little man grows into an active big baby! There are SO MANY THINGS out there for babies and it is hard to know just exactly what your baby will like, shun or be interested in. I thought that the wedding/bridal industry was a bunch of scammers the way they charged billions of bucks for cakes, invites supplies but they have got nothing on the baby supply industry.

We searched department stores for some ideas and found a great infant to toddler rocking chair. However it was $60 and you're just bat-crap-crazy to pay that much for a baby item that may or may not last through one phase in his first year of life. To Kijiji, I say.

Loving the relaxation!
For a great drive down the Hanwell while Jack napped and $10 we are now the proud owners of an infant-to-toddler rocker.  I must say it does rock his socks off (sadly when he gets going there's no pun intended .. harhar) and he LOVES to hang out in it.

Sometimes a baby just needs a good chair to hang out in and sadly his little infant chair he lived in for months just wasn't cutting it. This one I'm VERY happy with!

Laying down in the "infant position".
Jack disliked and protested greatly. I guess he's not feeling infantish.

Working it in the toddler-rocker stage!
Buying used just makes sense when you are shopping for a baby who is growing like a weed and changing their likes/dislikes each day they wake up. (of course keep quality and safety standards when shopping!) Each item I bring home gets washed, disinfected, refreshed and then is ready to roll like new. I just can't imagine doing it any other way!

For some other items we have in mind for Jack we're going to check out the FAMOM Spring/Summer.  It is such a great idea! I think that everyone should check this out who have little ones in the Fredericton area.  Details below from their Facebook event!

  1. I love the chair.. its just the right size for him. The other chair was getting a little hilarious to see him in it... and when he put his mind to sitting up, he was in danger of flipping the whole chair! This one seems to be perfect!
    Good catch!

  2. Congrats on your big Kijiji win! I know Kijiji loves to hear about moms getting great deals and selling older stuff through the site, since that was originally eBay's focus when they set it up.

If you ever find anything so bad it's funny on Kijiji, please keep in mind -- we love the fail as much as you're loving the win!
