After a very hectic few days I have finally been able to return to semi-normal life at home! Thursday was consumed by our excitement over our ultrasound and Friday was a tornado called Preschool Graduation which I made 80 chocolate covered strawberries! Then directly after work Scotty and I took a whirlwind trip to the Valley to be there for less then 36 hours to drop off our kitties and piggies so they can start their long stay while we are away in Ottawa next week. Then today I dropped Scotty at the YHZ to fly to YYZ for a few days. And then Lucy and I drove home to Fredericton!
Now home and unpacked Lucy and I are both flopped out on the couch pooped from the last few days. Now I can finally write about June 16th the day we were counting down to!
Scotty and I have constant smiles plastered to our faces just from our experience on Thursday. Everyone pre-warned me how incredible it would be - and I just nodded along thinking “Yes yes its a miracle but I’m most excited about the results!” I was so wrong! We had no real idea if it was boy or girl, one or two and we really were excited to get in there and find out more than anything! It was just something I can’t put into words except for amazing.
Our little mans foot doing some kicking!
It was really wonderful to share with Scotty as we saw a full few minutes of our little baby boy Jack rolling, kicking, punching and generally being a cute baby all inside me! I was especially excited for Scotty to see all the movement because he hasn’t been able to feel anything yet and Jack did not disappoint!!
It’s not as though I haven’t seen pictures of ultrasounds before, but when it is your own it somehow is more incredible. Watching him kick AND feeling him inside me just brought home how much he has grown from a little alien embryo into a real live baby. We are SO excited to meet him! October can’t come soon enough :)! I adored how much he reacted to the ultrasound technicians movements - she was able to get a great shot of his face!
Our tech called this the alien shot haha, but it is cute to see his little eyes and ears and chin!
We’ll be going back in 8 weeks ish so they can check on my uterus and Jack’s growth and we couldn’t be more stoked for another chance to see him again!
